Ashi - Samurai Jack

So i was thinking about Ashi's situation and i find out that she must die for the series to progress, i mean, If Jack decides to go to the past and kill Aku, it would mean that Ashi will never be born, aaaand taking in count that they are together, Jack needs to decide what is more important the world or her, does this means that ashi will have to die so that Jack can save the world? also are the creators go the cheap way out were she sacrifice herself so that jack doesn't look like an ass for taking a decision or will they make him take the hardest decision of his life?
